The Green Man, Ashbourne

This is a collage study focusing on the Green Man inn located in St John's Street, the main shopping street in Ashbourne. Dating back to 1750, the present building is the result of two separate inns being joined together and it is currently being redeveloped. The overhead gantry-style sign is in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest inn sign in the world, the full name being: The Royal Green Man and Blackamoor's Head Commercial and Family Hotel. So presumably sign writers didn't charge much in 1750.
